An 82.0 kWh lithium-ion battery powers both VW ID.4 trims. The RWD has a range of 422km, and the heavier AWD has slightly less range at 394km.

A Level 2 charger can replenish the ID.4’s battery to 100% in about 7.5 hours. Using a DC Fast Charger, you can juice up this EV from 5-80% in about 38 minutes.

Interior and Cargo Space

The inside of the ID.4 is spacious and modern. The uncluttered design is contemporary, paired with high-tech features like a wireless charging pad and textured touchpad controls, and has a futuristic feel. There is plenty of headroom for front-seat passengers, but it tightens in the rear. Cargo space is ample, with room for 8 carry-on suitcases in the trunk and 26 if you fold the rear seats down. There are handy storage compartments under the floor but no frunk (front trunk) like some of the ID.4’s competitors.
